OIBISWorld logour IBISWorld database received a much needed refresh earlier this year. 

The content hasn't really changed -- it's still a great collection of over 2100 regularly updated industry reports -- but browsing & searching to find those reports is now a smoother, more efficient process. If you haven't used IBISWorld lately, explore and let me know what you think!

New content in Vividata: Canadian consumer data

For those who haven't used Vividata yet: it's an invaluable source of information on Canadians’ opinions, demographics, and activities, as well as their product, service, and media purchases, with brand-level data in many cases.

Time flies when you're having fun...

Now that we are a year into this new world of legalized sale and consumption, we are seeing innovations such as edibles & low-cost, bulk buying, and there are reports of a boost to the economy of over $8 billion.

Here until December 2020: Data on listed firms in China

ILogo for CSMAR: Research Services'm very pleased to announce that SFU researchers have access until Dec. 2020 to a collection of detailed data on publicly traded firms in China.

This short-term subscription was funded with support from a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada research grant held by Prof. Ray Zhang, but the resource is available to all SFU researchers. 

Each of the six datasets from  CSMAR (China Stock Market & Accounting Research) covers firms listed on China's Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. And they are...

Indigenous business books & ebooks

A couple of our graduate business classes this term are exploring Indigenous business and economic development -- a theme that we expect will appear in more classes at all levels in the coming years.
