Terminology for Policy searches
Policy can be a difficult concept to search, as often the word itself is not used. Sample search string, for either Keyword or Subject searching:
(policy OR guideline OR initiative OR strateg* OR framework OR directive OR "action plan" OR guidance)
[source: U of T libraries]
Remember to use the truncation symbol, the asterisk (*), to find various endings of a particular word, and quotation marks ("") for phrase searching.
To limit your search to Canada, add geographic terms, e.g. : (Canad* OR bc OR "British Columbia")
