All times are Pacific Time Zone (Vancouver, BC, Canada).

Do you find that you focus better when others are focusing around you?

Are you interested in academic success supports but find that you are too busy to actually schedule a consultation?

Have you heard about “body doubling”* and wondered about how it works?

If you answered yes or even “maybe” to any of the questions above, then this program is for you!

Throughout the spring 2025 semester, come put in some focused writing and/or studying time at the Student Learning Commons (in the Belzberg Library on the Harbour Centre Campus). You will be joined by an SLC Writing Services or Learning Services Coordinator who will be working alongside you as a “body double.” These staff members will be available for quick questions and support during the focused work time. If a more in-depth, one-on-one consultation will be helpful, the coordinator may refer a student to make a follow up appointment.

*Body doubling is a productivity strategy where you work alongside someone to boost focus and accountability.

Registration for these sessions is not required, but signing up can increase your own sense of accountability! Forgot to sign up: feel free to just drop in!

These sessions are informal and flexible: students do not need to be able to stay for the full 1.5 hours to participate.
