In addition to one-on-one and group counselling, SFU's Health and Counselling Services provides several self-help resources for managing stress:
- This page allows SFU community members to watch videos or to sign up for short non-credit Canvas courses around building resilience, managing procrastination, and understanding anxiety and depression.
- Here you can listen to recordings that will guide you through stress management activities such as mindfulness meditation and progressive muscle relaxation.
- You can access a curated list of wellness apps that Health and Counselling Services recommends.
- Or SFU community members can drop into guided mindfulness meditation sessions on Zoom for live group learning and practice.
Another local organization with information on coping with stress is Here to Help BC. Their Stress and Well-Being page has information about signs and sources of stress, its negative and positive effects, its link with physical and mental health, coping strategies, and a survey to help identify the sources of stress in your life.
