Researching an emerging industry? We've got an online encyclopedia for that!
Published by Mark BodnarHere's one of those paradoxes that spice up the "researcher" parts of my life... business thrives on the edge, on NEWness: new industries, disruptive strategies, and unexplored niches are all the thrilling stuff of business adventures, yet that focus on what is just around the corner or just starting to take shape means that researching such topics can be... frustrating.
I've mentioned in the past that news sources are one of the best ways of spotting trends as they develop. However, sometimes it's useful to start with a source that gives you the big picture. That's why I'm very pleased to announce that SFU researchers now have access to the 2017 edition of the Encyclopedia of Emerging Industries!
This online reference book provides...
... information about the inception, emergence and current status of new and established industries and business segments that are pioneering new technologies, introducing break-through marketing strategies or implementing innovative means of serving new markets. Consists of detailed profiles of newer industries, such as biometrics, risk management services, satellites, specialty tourism, and others.
So, if you're researching Bioremediation, Data Mining, High-Frequency Trading, Vape Shops, or any of the other 140+ industries covered, check the Encyclopedia of Emerging Industries early in your research!
