Access to "I, Daniel Blake" on Criterion On Demand

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I would like to show the movie "I, Daniel Blake" in the classroom as part of my IS221/LBST 201 (Workers in the Global Economy) course. It seems that it is available in the Library's online collections through Criterion On-Demand. But the link does not appear to be working. Would it be possible for you to help me access this?

Changing mailing address

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I need assistance to update my mailing address on file.

A. You will have to change your address with Student Services. Our library database gets its information from them, so if we were to change it in our computers but not theirs, it would be overwritten soon.

Noise issues due to construction

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. The loud drilling directly in front of the library is ridiculous. The windows in the graduate study area are very old  and remain open during the summer months due to the lack of central air. Therefore, the loud jack-hammering going on all day long makes studying and writing nearly impossible. I suggest any construction to be done on nights and weekends.

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I found the book "The question of German unification, 1806-1996" on here, but the site that is supposed to allow me to access the full text, Taylor and Francis E-Books, won't let me access it.  It says that I need to log in to view the book, but my sfu email and password does not work.

Problematic link to e-resource

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I was helping a student on AskAway today who was trying to access an e-resource without success. Perhaps it's a temporary issue, but I thought I should let someone know that the link for the dataset found here isn't working.

Extending hours for laptop loans

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. Laptop loans should be extended slightly to 4 hours and 15 minutes. Although four hours is very generous, many seminar classes (for example in Sociology/Anthropology) are also four hours long. For
students without laptops or who are transiting to school and find it easier to borrow a laptop, extending the loan slightly would allow us to use the laptop for class and then return it on time without a fee.

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I am an alumni and would like to obtain an SFU Library Card. I no longer have my library card as it has been several decades since I was enrolled at the Burnaby campus. What form of identification do I need to present in order to obtain a card? What is the cost of obtaining the card?
