Access to "I, Daniel Blake" on Criterion On Demand

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I would like to show the movie "I, Daniel Blake" in the classroom as part of my IS221/LBST 201 (Workers in the Global Economy) course. It seems that it is available in the Library's online collections through Criterion On-Demand. But the link does not appear to be working. Would it be possible for you to help me access this?

A. It appears that as of January 1, Criterion On Demand removed "I, Daniel Blake" from their streaming film collection. The content of the collection changes over time as licences lapse and as new films are added. The Library is always a little behind in loading new titles and removing old ones. I have asked the Library's metadata management unit to remove this record for the film.

Please let me know if you'd like the Library to purchase a hard copy DVD of the film and we'll order it and you can book it for classroom showing. Or rather than telling me, you can send your request directly to media@sfu.ca with the course name and when you would like to show it. Mirfat Habib who looks after all media booking will look after it for you. Please be aware that it can take a little time to for a title to arrive and be processed.
