Noise issues due to construction

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. The loud drilling directly in front of the library is ridiculous. The windows in the graduate study area are very old  and remain open during the summer months due to the lack of central air. Therefore, the loud jack-hammering going on all day long makes studying and writing nearly impossible. I suggest any construction to be done on nights and weekends.

A. The library agrees, it would have been considerably less disruptive if the work was scheduled during the evenings and weekends. The major deciding factor was budgeting, as it would have cost considerably more to schedule during the evenings and weekends. SFU facilities manages this project, and if you wish to pursue this further, please contact Project Manager James Bremner at james_bremner@sfu.ca.
