Alert + workaround: Business articles (incl. HBR) not showing in Library Search results

Published by Mark Bodnar
 Update (March 11)

We believe the issue described below has been resolved — early test results are all . We will run more tests and monitor the situation for the next few weeks. If you notice any Business Source Complete articles (HBR or otherwise) aren't showing up in your Catalogue or Library Search results, please do let me know!

About half of the articles in our Business Source Complete database are not showing up in Library Search or Catalogue results. This includes almost all of the Harvard Business Review (HBR) articles.

The articles are all still available in Business Source Complete — we haven't lost them entirely!

We're working on fixing this issue, but in the meantime please search Business Source Complete directly for articles on business topics.

Finding articles when you have the citation details

If you already know the citation details (title, date, etc.) of the article you need, check this FAQ for directions on how to retrieve it via Business Source Complete.

(The FAQ outlines methods for finding HBR articles via Business Source Complete, but the same approaches will work for other articles.)

Searching for business topics (rather than specific articles)

If you are searching more generally for anything on a business topic, select Business Source Complete and run your search there instead of via Library Search.

See this tutorial on Advanced Searching in Business Source Complete if you are new to using our main business article database.

Again, we're working on a solution, but the alternative approaches described above should ensure that you can continue accessing the business articles you need.

I'll update this post if anything changes.
