Workstations: Media and Maker Commons

 Regular hours: Monday 1 - 5 pm; Tuesday - Friday 10am - 5pm; closed on holidays

The Media and Maker Commons has four workstations that you can use to access specialty software to work on maker projects.

Of the four workstations, two are PCs and two are Macs.  The following software is available on the workstations.

Adobe CC - A set of applications for design, video editing, audio editing, and photography, among other uses.

Please note, Adobe CC 2023 products now require you to log in to use them.  Creating an account is free and you don't have to use your SFU email address, but you must log in to Adobe Cloud in order to open apps on our workstations.  You can find instructions here.

Google Earth Pro - 3D interactive globe to aid in planning and analysis.

Cura - 3D printer slicing application used by our Ultimaker 3D printers.

Fusion 360 - software for 3D modeling and design.

Blender - 3D computer graphics toolset for animation, 3D models, motion graphics, and other 3D interactive applications.

Maya 2018 - 3D computer graphics application for creating interactive applications, animations, and visual effects.

CorelDraw - vector graphics editor for 2D design.

Regard 3D - photogrammetry software for creating 3D models from a series of images.

3DF Zephyr - photogrammetry and 3D modeling software.

Meshlab - 3D mesh processing software for editing 3D designs.

Autodesk Recap - Software for working with aerial photos to create 3D models.
