Getting started

We offer online training through Canvas to teach you the minimum skills required to operate the Editing Studio System. In that training, you will review basic principles and gain troubleshooting experience to avoid common editing failures.

To schedule the Editing Studio, you can use the Library's booking service website. Time slots are available in 30 minute intervals, with a maximum booking of two hours. If you need additional Editing Studio time, please email the MMC staff.

Tools

The Editing Studio has easy-to-use equipment specifically designed for editing audio and visual material. The Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 is a versatile USB-powered audio interface, ideal for anyone needing a cue mix for performing or recording. It is compact yet flexible, with two natural-sounding Scarlett mic preamps, super-low latency, MIDI i/o, four analogue outputs and the same class-leading sound quality and digital conversion as the rest of the latest Scarlett range. It also includes Audio-Technica microphone to record a voice over or re-record on-the-fly, as well as M-Series professional monitor headphones to deliver accurate audio and outstanding comfort, perfect for long sessions in the studio.

You can record and edit using a 2019 27-inch iMac Retina 5K, which includes Adobe Creative Suite. If you require anything else, please let our staff know.
