Q. I am currently in CMNS130 C200 class and was going to open this link "http://www.lib.sfu.ca/help/research-assistance/subject/communication/cmns130-burnaby-fall2016" under my canvas, however, I cannot open it. It says "access denied". Any reasons why?
Piping Up: Library feedback
Q. How long does it take if it says cataloging! It says I’m #1 in queue but there was already a request before me when I clicked, and turned to 2 after I requested. Does that mean I’m first still?
Q. I'm extremely surprised and very inconvenienced by your reduced hours during spring semester "break". This is not a break for me while I work on my final masters project and there were many students in there yesterday getting kicked out at the unreasonable time of 5pm. I know there were other SFU students in Belzberg prepping for practicums and I have no doubt other graduate students working on projects that don't stop at the end of semester. The staff don't make eye contact when security kicks you out either.
Q. Can I return a library book to Belzberg Library instead of taking it to WAC Bennett?
A. Yes, you can if it is a regular loan, but not if it is a reserves item.

Q. Currently in the 5th floor area studying for exams. During stressful times it is much appreciated if talking is kept minimum but a lot of students still talk out loud making it disruptive and disrespectful to others studying. Is it possible for a librarian to come by once in awhile to remind people who are talking. Or simply have more signs up for silent study area reminder.
Q. I am an alumni of SFU and have published a book based on my doctoral research. I just found out about your celebration of authors event and am wondering how I might submit. The book was published in Jan. 2019 by Pickwick Publications. The title is Mourning the Dream/Amor Fati: An Illustrated Mythopoetic Inquiry. Any information regarding this would be most appreciated.
Q. This evening I was talking to the librarian regarding the book, "Decisive Battles Of The World". He gave me a link and I was able to download the book for free from Google Books. Thank you for your
A. Thanks very much for letting us know. So glad we could help.

Q. Recent construction activities around the library have involved regular changes to the walkways including constricted areas for students and others to navigate. The accumulation of snow, ice and slush on these narrowed walkways is creating hazardous conditions where walking has been restricted. It seems to me that the construction workers should take the time after each snowfall to ensure that the walkways are cleared to ensure safety for pedestrians. Currently there are piles of slush on sections of narrowed stairways which should be cleared.
Q. I am a faculty member trying to access this article in the system. It is supposed to be available to SFU but is behind a paywall. Can you fix this and/or send it to me?

Q. I think the library needs to purchase more chargers for iPads, iPhones, and Androids. I had to quickly use the charger but they were unavailable.
A. We are currently taking inventory of our numerous and varied chargers. We will replenish those we consider to be low in stock. It would be helpful in situations such as this to reference a specific model of charger for your device so that we can be sure we have a good supply.
