When placing a book on hold
Published by Dipa BaruaQ. How long does it take if it says cataloging! It says I’m #1 in queue but there was already a request before me when I clicked, and turned to 2 after I requested. Does that mean I’m first still?
A. "In process of cataloging" means the book has been received by the library and is waiting to be cataloged, and yes, you are still number one in the queue. When you place a hold on a book it should be ready for pick up in 2-3 working days from the Circulation/Loans desk at the library location you selected: W.A.C. Bennett (SFU Burnaby), Belzberg (SFU Vancouver) or Fraser (SFU Surrey).
You should receive an email (in your SFU Mail account). If you do not receive an email notice from the library, check the library catalogue: the item will have a call number and the status will change to "on hold shelf" when it is ready for pick up.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.
