SFU Central Open Access Fund application form

The SFU Central Open Access (OA) Fund supports SFU authors who publish in fully open access journals that charge article processing charges.  

SFU authors are invited to fill out and submit this form to request financial support from the SFU Central Open Access Fund.

Before submitting your Open Access fund application

Please read the eligibility and guidelines information for the Fund before submitting your application.

If an alternate funding source is available that permits payment of submission fees, this source should be used before applying to the fund. 

This form should be completed at the time of article submission to the publisher.

Is your article or book chapter eligible for support from the Open Access Fund?

No: If you answered no to any of these questions, you are not eligible for funding from the OA Fund for this article.

Yes: If you answered yes you may be eligible for funding from the OA Fund for this article.  Please complete the rest of this form.

Publication information

Provide a link to the publication's website (e.g. PLOS Biology - Note: This Fund covers only fees associated with open access publishing for fully open journals. Please see the guidelines on eligible and ineligible journals.

Funding request

The fund supports a maximum of two articles per author published each calendar year.

Deposit in Summit and publicity

Fund recipients must consent to deposit their work in Summit, SFU’s research repository.
