About the workshop
OpenRefine is a free, user-friendly tool for cleaning up your research data. In this workshop, you will learn about the principles of tidy data and best practices for organizing data in spreadsheets. Then learn how to apply those practices using OpenRefine.
This workshop will be an introduction to the basics of OpenRefine and will go over:
- Creating a project in OpenRefine
- Faceting and filtering data
- Transforming data
- Reconciling data with external sources
Requirements
Attendees should install OpenRefine onto their computer prior to the workshop. No previous experience with OpenRefine is necessary.
