I'm an independent scholar. How can I obtain library privileges?

Researchers without a university affiliation

Independent scholars or researchers without a university affiliation have several options:

  1. Use SFU Library materials in the Library
  2. Visit in person to request guest access to online resources from the computers at any SFU Library
  3. Purchase an external borrower card for $100 per year to borrow materials.

Members of the Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars

Independent scholars who are members of the Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars (CAIS) receive library borrowing and online privileges through their affiliation with CAIS and SFU Continuing Studies.
