Extending laptop borrowing

Published by Dipa Barua

Q: The library's offer of loan-able laptops have been a huge help on my academic career.  However, since I have consecutive hours of classes, I am unable to comfortably return library laptops without sacrificing the first few minutes of each lecture. Is it possible to extend the hours for borrowing a laptop?

A: There are currently no plans to change the laptop borrowing period. The existing four hour loan period is set up so that we will have laptops available for as many students as possible, rather than running out early in the day.

WIFI coverage on the 6th floor

Published by Dipa Barua

Q: The WIFI on the 6th floor of the Bennett Library does not work properly.

A: There are currently no WiFi antennas at the east and west ends of the 6th floor so coverage is spotty. We forwarded this concern to network services and they have tuned their antennas, but further additional access points will need to be installed in those particular areas of the 6th floor. For the time being, it is best to study in other areas of the 6th floor that have better WIFI coverage.
