Tablets in the library?

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. Some of my friends and I are wondering if SFU Library can lend tablets to students. Although the laptops are available, tablets are more convenient, portable and light. We can write notes on the screen, highlight the key points with fingers, and take pictures directly. Besides, tablets do not take as much space as the laptops take. So we can put them on the narrow table and in the purse. Finally, tablets are more design friendly. Art and IAT students will appreciate them too.

Accessing online resources

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I'm taking one of SFU's online courses. Do I need to access the Library, or will all my resources be posted on the course Canvas site? If I do, how can I do this? I'm registered in a certificate program, but don't have student ID card. I'm taking the online course through Distance Ed I assume as I live in Nova Scotia. This is my first time doing a course from SFU, so forgive what may be redundant any questions for you.

Updated annotated bibliography instructions

Q. Under the MLA 8th edition you mention hanging indents need to be used. Am I mistaken or shouldn't the first line be justified left and then the hanging indent used on subsequent lines?

A. Thank you very much for pointing out that our 'How to Write an Annotated Bibliography' page was not accurately formatted. This has been corrected now.

Loan periods for alumni

Q. The policy of switching renewals to just a few weeks for alumni is not fair. What was wrong with how it was before?? Longer time but if requested, would return. Very frustrating.

Q. Hello! I was wondering if we have access to the New Yorker website through SFU please? Thank you,
