Can Alumni Borrow Laptops?

Published by Dipa Barua
Q: I'm a recent SFU alumnus who's going to be attending a club event at Harbour Centre on Saturday. I've been requested to bring a laptop, and with mine on the fritz was wondering if my alumni status still lets me borrow laptops from the library for on-campus use.

I checked the services pages, and did not find an answer. The alumni services page does not list laptop borrowing under either the permitted or ineligible lists. The external/individual borrowers page states they may not borrow laptops because they are not alumni/students/faculty/staff.

Donation of Punk Rock Record

Published by Dipa Barua

Q: Do you accept 45 rpm records for your Punk rock collection? I think I have a Pointed Sticks 45 from their early days. It was played maybe twice, so it should be in fairly good shape still.

A: Thank you for offering a Pointed Sticks 45. Special Collections would very much like to add it to our Vancouver Punk Collection.

Switch from ebrary to eDuke?

Published by Dipa Barua
Q: Did you recently switch from ebrary to eDuke?  Like, within the last week?  I printed 2/3 articles from I book I needed last week using ebrary.  I had to sign up for an ebrary account and then download the pdf to do this.  When I went to print the third chapter I needed today, when I searched the link though the library it would send me to eDuke to view the article online.

They do not appear to offer anyway to view the whole text as a pdf, and accordingly I cannot print it out to read.
