How to submit publication in the celebration of authors event

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I am an alumni of SFU and have published a book based on my doctoral research. I just found out about your celebration of authors event and am wondering how I might submit. The book was published in Jan. 2019 by Pickwick Publications. The title is Mourning the Dream/Amor Fati: An Illustrated Mythopoetic Inquiry. Any information regarding this would be most appreciated.

Library workshop

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I was so excited to see the "Communicate with Purpose and Intent" workshop on Thursday, November 8th. I (and so many of my peers) have done amazing research contributing to the global pool of solutions for environmental issues, only to fail to communicate it effectively in layman's terms to the public.

However, this workshop falls at a time when so many of us have class, so I was wondering whether it will be recorded? If not, I would love to see this offered again sometime.

2017 TED Talks Hosting

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. Will SFU Library be hosting live streaming of TED Talks this year?

A. The SFU Library will not be streaming the TED Talks this year.

The streaming links have just yesterday been sent out by the TED organizers to local public libraries.  I know that West Vancouver Memorial Library will be setting up streaming (see the update on their home page at https://westvanlibrary.ca) but as of this afternoon Vancouver Public Library has not confirmed whether they would be able to organize streaming.

PostDoc Registration Option for Workshops

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I am a Postdoctoral Researcher and wanted to register for workshops that the library offers (NVivo workshops specifically). I was wondering what I should enter on the form for 'Registrant level': Graduate, Staff, or other?

A. Thanks for your feedback!  We've added a 'Postdoctoral Fellow' category in our workshop registration system.  You can now select that as an option when your register for NVivo or other Research Commons workshops.

Kind regards,

Nicole White
Head, Research Commons

Question: Hello! I have to submit my thesis before April 30th, and I would like to

check in advance if my formatting is correct. I was wondering if there`s a

service or someone I could talk to regarding this matter.
