Research services
Accessing Library collections
Find what you need
Use the SFU Library Catalogue or Library Search to find articles, books, databases, journals, media and other materials.
SFU doesn't have it? We'll get it for you via Interlibrary Loans (ILL) -- fast and free of charge.
Quick access to online resources
See Accessing online resources from off campus for tools like the Library's Off-Campus Bookmarklet and browser extensions to make it easier and faster to view paywalled resources without coming in through the Library's website.
Research and publishing support
The Library plays a central role in SFU's research enterprise. For specialized subject support, contact our liaison librarians. For support with scholarly publishing and open access and data management, visit the Research Commons.
See Library services for research projects for ways the Library can support grant-funded and other research projects, at a base level of service as an in-kind contribution (i.e. no direct cost to the researcher) and beyond this base level additional services at a cost.
We also support academically popular software programs such as NVivo and Zotero.
Teaching and learning services
The Student Learning Commons helps students with academic writing and learning.
The Library is also your partner in providing customized information and instruction services on topics including;
- avoiding plagiarism
- research skills (Canvas modules).
- copyright for SFU students (Canvas modules).
And in-person and online help is always available to students through Library research assistance services.
