Our colleague Tom Peacock worked in Access Services, where he was a friendly face and helping hand to all who came to the front counter of the Bennett Library.
Tom started with SFU Library in 1998, and worked in Loans and Access Services throughout his time at the Library. Many SFU students, faculty, and staff will remember Tom's stories and sense of humour, and co-workers always knew they could rely on Tom for his in-depth knowledge of the Bennett Library building, collections, and processes. Tom was also a strong advocate for students and for fellow Library staff, and served on many Library committees, including the Library Council and Third Floor Task Force, and as a shop steward.
Tom died on May 25, 2019 after a brief illness.
Tom will be dearly missed by colleagues in the Library and throughout SFU. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and to all those who knew and cared for him.
