Loans
We lend most circulating items from our collections.
Loans are for three weeks from the date of receipt. There are no renewals. All loans are subject to recall.
We lend paper or microform copies of SFU theses and dissertations when available.
You are encouraged to verify availability of items in the SFU Library Catalogue.
Copies
We do not lend periodicals, but will provide copies. Copies are normally sent in digital format.
Courier delivery
We ship by courier where agreements exist between libraries. To request one-time courier delivery, the borrowing library must provide an account number (Federal Express or Purolator), complete street address, contact person and phone number.

Alternative agreements are in place for charging among members of COPPUL (Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries), BC ELN (BC Electronic Library Network) and those institutions that participate in the Canadian University Interlibrary Loan / Resource Sharing Agreement.
Invoices will be issued in January to borrowing libraries.
Placing requests
For fastest service, please submit your request in a format that will read into our ILL Management System. We accept:
- ISO ILL protocol messages (contact us for details),
- Generic Script (such as Relais, AVISO or GODOT output),
- requests on OCLC Worldshare and Voila (we are SFB; IFM billing is preferred).
We do not accept requests by telephone.

We do not provide rush service.
