Journals:

The SFU library has excellent serials holdings in Criminology. Most, if not all, of these titles are available electronically and therefore available at all SFU Campuses. For example:

Crime, law, and social change
Criminology
The journal of forensic sciences
Journal of interpersonal violence
Journal of investigative psychology and offender profiling
Journal of research in crime and delinquency
Justice quarterly
Legal and criminal psychology
Police practice and research

For more examples, please see the following lists:
Criminology Journals
Sage Criminology Collection
Please note that the above lists are not exhaustive, but merely examples of our collection.

No additional journal subscriptions are necessary to support these courses.

Monographs:

The Bennett Library is actively collecting in these subject areas. However, these subject areas are currently not part of Surrey's collection development activities. In order to ensure that Surrey is collecting materials to support the Criminology students and faculty members on its campus, the following subject headings will have to be turned on to books with our major book wholesaler:

Crime & criminals - general (39800200)
Criminal psychology (27526300)
Criminal investigation - general (39802502)

On average, these subject headings generate 91 titles/year.
This will cost $7615/year.

Additionally, the following subject headings will need to be turned on to forms:

Criminal investigation technology (39802530)
Medical anthropology (69047300)
Police duty (39801020)
Drug use & abuse (39850000)
Drug crimes (39807078)
Homicide (39807020)
Investigation of specific crimes (39802580)

International law - general (19940200)
Civil liberties & rights (19168000)
Native races studies (39401060)
Violence (39320000)

It is estimated that approximately 45 additional titles will be purchased from the above forms.
At an average book price of $85, this will cost $3,825/year

Total ongoing monograph costs for Surrey: $11,440
