This is the Library's report on the nine new courses proposed by the Faculty of Business Administration. Courses are to be offered at both the Surrey and Burnaby campuses.

Bibliographic Tools:

ABI/INFORM, Business Source Premier, CBCA Fulltext Business and a variety of other multidisciplinary databases, all provided by current library licenses, will be useful for locating resources for this program. No additional bibliographic tools are needed.

Serials:

The Surrey Library has established a small browsing collection of general business magazines such as Canadian Business, BC Business, etc. The the following titles should also be added to this collection to support these courses:

Monographs

The majority of monographs supporting the Faculty of Business Admnistration are on the Burnaby campus. While the Library is actively collecting in this area, current collections allocations for the Surrey Library do not have adequate funding to support Business courses at this level. Current holdings in these subject areas at the Surrey library primarily reflect courses offered at the former Tech BC, as well as many e-book holdings that are available to all campuses.

BUS 314 -- New Venture Finance

This course will be taught at the Surrey campus beginning in the Fall of 2007 and annually thereafter.

BUS 322 -- Intermediate Managerial Accounting

This will be a required course for students wishing to concentrate in Accounting. It will first be offered in Fall 2006 on the Burnaby campus with an anticipated enrollment of 275 students per year.

BUS 338 -- Managing Technological Innovation

This course will be taught at the Surrey campus beginning in Spring 2007 and annually thereafter.
