Introduction

This is the Library's course assessment for IS 816: Security Studies: Concepts, Theories and Issues. This elective course will be offered at the Harbour Centre campus with an expected enrolment of 10 to 20 students.

Serials

The Library's collection of serials is sufficient to support this course and includes the following titles:

International Security
Journal of Conflict and Security Law
Conflict, Security and Development: CSD
Comparative Strategy

Bibliographic Tools

Students in this course have access to such general International Studies bibliographic tools (provided by Library license) as International Political Science Abstracts and PAIS International. With an increased emphasis on security studies (not just in this course but in other International Studies current course offerings as well), the Library recommends the purchase of a ongoing subsciption to the Armed Conflict Database, produced by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)/Taylor and Francis. The cost of an annual subscription is approximately $936.

Total: $936/year
