This is the Library's Report for IS 810: Security Studies: Concepts, Theories, and Issues. This course will first be offered in the Spring of 2009 on the SFU Vancouver campus. It will be taught annually and has an estimated enrolment of 15-20 students. This is a required course for students enrolled in the Complex Emergencies Stream (B) of the Master's of International Studies Program.

The library subscribes to a number of databases that will prove to be useful for this program including Humanities Index, SocIndex, Sociological Abstracts, SourceOECD, and PAIS International. However, it is strongly recommended that the library subscribe to Praeger Security International Online (PSIO). PISO is a security focused database that will support this course as well as the whole of Stream B: Complex Emergencies.
PISO contains content on Immigration and Border Control, Psychology of Terror, Disaster Response, Transportation Security, Counterinsurgency, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Energy and Security.
