Notes for Researchers / Notes à l’intention des chercheurs
This bibliography is a rich resource for researchers of the Canadian book trade, which is now available in a preliminary electronic version. Researchers are asked to note the following editorial and technical limitations:
Do not use diacritics in search terms, as the search engine only recognizes unaccented letters. (e.g. For “bibliothèque,” type “bibliotheque.”)
As the database contains variants of some English words, it is necessary to search all possible spellings (e.g.. “labour” and “labor,” “theatre” and “theater.”)
The names of periodicals are abbreviated in the source field; these abbreviations are not always consistent for individual titles. To see a list of abbreviations used in this database, [click here]. To facilitate use, we have grouped variations of abbreviations for individual source titles (e.g. CM appears after Canadian Materials).

Duplicate records and occasional inaccuracies in the author field are due to technical difficulties in transforming the original printed document into an electronic form.
Typographical errors may be present in some records.
