In May 1995 patrons were able to submit requests electronically for the first time. These requests were automatically read into the interlibrary loan management software and processed in the same manner as the card requests. From May 1995 until March 1996, over 32% of all borrowing requests were received electronically. 2. To maximize the number of hours available for patrons to pick up requested materials, pickup for materials was moved to the Loans Check Out counter in July 1995. While there has been a decline in personal contact with ILL patrons, many have expressed positive comments about this change. 3. To accommodate future plans to move the Reference area to the third floor, ILL was moved to the Northwest corner of the third floor. And finally, in recognition of SFU's leadership and ongoing support of the OJAC service, the Electronic Library Network (ELN) asked that SFU co-accept the 1996 Innovation Achievement Award from the Canadian Association of College and University Libraries (CACUL). SFU ILL remains as the top supplier of articles through the OJAC service.
