SFU Library Fines and Penalties Appeal Form

Reason for appeal: Your appeal will be evaluated based on the reasons and information you have provided. It is important to explain all extenuating circumstances and, where possible, provide supporting documentation related to your case (by regular mail or in person) to: Loans Division. WAC Bennett Library. 8888 University Drive. Burnaby BC V5A 1S6. or by fax to 778.782.3023 Note: Disagreements regarding the Library Loan Policy will not be considered as appeals.

Note: While your appeal is being investigated, and in some instances this may take several weeks, your borrowing privileges will be reinstated; renewals and hold requests may be processed by staff at the Circulation Desk or by phoning 778.782.4345; no on-line transactions are available until your appeal has been resolved. Please phone us at 778.782.4345 if you have any further questions. In the event your appeal involves lost or material you believe you returned, and the material is not located during our investigation, you may be billed for processing charges, replacement costs, and/or any relevant overdue fines.

As some services are restricted to SFU students, faculty and staff, we may be limited in the form of assistance we can provide to those outside the SFU community.

Messages will be read several times a day, Monday through Saturday, and responses will be sent within one working day to your e-mail address. Food and Drink in the SFU Library

Q:  Food inside the library should be completely prohibited it does not just distracts people that are trying to study but also damages the books and computers in the building. I have been to several libraries and apparently this is the only one that allows food.
