The Census Program run by Statistics Canada provides a statistical portrait of the country every five years. It provides important information on the demographic, social, and economic conditions of the country's population. Navigating Stats Can's website, however, can be quite confusing due to the variety of Census products and complexity of the data. This workshop will cover:
- How to clarify your needs surrounding Census data
- Selected census products on Stats Can's website
- Databases the SFU Library provides access to, including Canadian Census Analyser, Nesstar, and SimplyAnalytics
- How to map Census data (briefly)

Note: This workshop will be run on the Zoom platform. You don't have to install the Zoom app on your computer, but it might make it easier to use all of the features. Make sure your computer has access to the internet via an up-to-date browser.
