Make and create in SFU Library's new makerspace

Cartoon image of three cats silhoutted with three different makerspace objects: a toolbox, a 3D printer, a VR device. Celebratory confetti in the background.

The new Media and Maker Commons is now open!

Do you have an idea for a podcast? An assignment you want to make a video for? A concept for a 3D prototype?

Make your ideas come to life! Explore what you can create in the new SFU Library Media and Maker Commons (MMC). The MMC is a collaborative, hands-on learning makerspace located on the third floor of the W.A.C. Bennett Library in Burnaby.

Who is the makerspace for?

All SFU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to use the space.

What can you do in the makerspace?

  • Learn how to use maker tools and media technology
  • Build your projects in the collaborative spaces
  • Get support from the Makerspace Librarian and experienced facilitators
  • Connect with other makers and share ideas
