Computer Boot Times are Slow

Published by Dipa Barua

The boot times are painfully slow and the interface is foreign and not conducive to productivity. Why ask students to adjust to entirely new interface with no obvious benefit to them (at least the majority that use the computers for Word, research and some simple online applications such as Lon-Capa). Why fix it if it's not broken?

Can I return books from VPL or BPL at SFU library ?

Published by Dipa Barua
Your question or comment: Can I return books from Vancouver Public Library or Burnaby Public Library at your library ?  Will they be transported back to the public libraries ?
Which library?  W.A.C.Bennett (SFU Burnaby)

A: Yes you can drop them off here but they will take between one and two weeks to get back to their home library. They will not be checked in until they get back home so if they are close to their due date it might not be a good idea.

Reduction in Construction Noise?

Published by Dipa Barua
Your question or comment: Is there a possibility of the construction to cease during the last weeks of the semester? It is incredibly loud and distracting when sitting in the silent levels of the library and hearing hammering and drilling. Some of us rely heavily on this space during this time of the semester This is supposed to be a quiet area provided to students and this is the third semester we have had to put up with it.
