Library Catalogue search issues

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I would just like to let you know that the update that occurred to the Library Catalogue search (whenever it was) has made it worse. I have been attending SFU since 2011 (undergrad and masters), and I am finding that throughout this past semester it has been agonizing trying to find articles. The search system does not seem to recognize papers that I readily have access too. I instead have to go into every journal and download which takes so much longer. I am not sure why the search function is not matching terms easily and  I am not sure who to talk to about this.

New Catalogue system

Q. I find this new system to be less precise than the system it replaced. I am also constantly asked to sign in, even though I have already done so. Most frustratingly, I encounter a large number of links that go nowhere or ask me yet again to sign in only to return an error message. The new system also seems to offer more information such as tables of contents, but more often than not these promised links lead to an Amazon page without a table of content. Another related problem has been the promise of downloadable ebooks.
