Q. I would like to show the movie "I, Daniel Blake" in the classroom as part of my IS221/LBST 201 (Workers in the Global Economy) course. It seems that it is available in the Library's online collections through Criterion On-Demand. But the link does not appear to be working. Would it be possible for you to help me access this?
Q. Special collections is probably one of the least professional library facilities I've ever witnessed. The "reading area" is sandwiched in between the offices of the higher-ups, the desks of the lower-downs, and a board room. This would actually be fine if the librarians who worked there didn't seem to have nothing to do, and pollute the reading area with all kinds of personal conversations and phone calls. An absolute joke.
Q. The new interface is much harder to use than the old. There should be an easy way to limit searches to books only. If I want to get articles, I will use Google or Web of Science.
Q. I'm using the library for the first time. If the catalogue lsiting says "Item in place (0 requests)" does that mean it is available for me to pick it up from the library?
A. Yes that means it is on the shelf.
Q. I have invested in $35 charge for 4 month access to SFU library materials. Several of the books recommended in history class are not available in hard book form, which I could sign out to read anywhere, but are available only as "full text online", which I can't access with my current library status. I can appreciate the library is shifting more and more to digital access which is likely cheaper and provides more variety. But I feel that over time this disadvantages subscribers like me.
Q: There was an article that I searched for today and I found that the library database has linked the wrong full text link for the article title that I was looking for.
The article is "Uncovering Facebook Photo Tagging Culture and Practices among Digital Natives" by Aqdas Malik, Amandeep Dhir, and Marko Nieminen; the full text link that comes up is for "Media Re-victimization of Rape Victims in a Shame Culture? Exploring the Framing and Representation of Rape Cases in Nigerian Dailies".
Q: I have a collection of 22 annual Norris Cartoon books (Vancouver Sun cartoonist) from July 1952 (2nd book) to June 1978 (27th book). Would these be of any interest to the SFU collection of Norris Cartoons?
A: Thank you very much for the offer of the twenty two annual Norris cartoon books. SFU has three sets of this collection so I will have to decline your offer. Thank you again for thinking of SFU.

Q: Hello, I wanted to comment on the Canadian Newsstand database at SFU. This resource unfortunately is not accurate reflecting Canadian news coverage. We did a comparison search with the Canadian Newsstand Complete database, accessible at UBC versus the one at SFU. We found over 2 times the amount of article on our topic area. This is significant if people are trying to do media related research that is national in scope.
Q: WHY can't there be today's issue of the new york times present in the belzberg library!?
