How to find course reserves in the Library Catalogue

Published by Dipa Barua

Q: The library site instructions advise me to go to the "Course Reserves" tab from which I should be able to find the library reserves for my course. Ideally, students should be able to do a search by instructor and course, but the only option available is to enter a particular title. There is no option to search by "SA302" or by "Dergousoff" (though I know this used to be available). Is there some place in the new Catalogue where I can check to see what I have placed on reserve?  I find the new Catalogue most exasperating to work with!

A:  Thank you for reporting this. There was a technical issue with loading new course reserves into our system and it has now been resolved. There are a few options when searching for course reserves.

The most reliable option is to search from the library home page and leave the default option to Library Search. I searched both by your surname and by the course number and was able to get to your course SA 302 here.

You can also search directly in the Library Catalogue. From the library home page, choose the Catalogue Search option, I searched by your surname again.  You can then navigate directly to Course Reserves from the results page by clicking on the drop down arrow in the top right search box and choose Course Reserves and click the magnifying glass.  There are also filters on the left side that allow one to filter by course number or instructor whether you choose the Course Reserves tab or search the entire Catalogue.

You may find the Library Catalogue search guide helpful as well. Please let me know if  you have any questions.
