Bennett Library Heating on 3rd Floor

Published by Dipa Barua

Q:  I have been noticing from the end of the last semester that, students sitting on the 3rd floor, near library main entrance doors, feel cold air coming through the main entrance doors of Bennett Library. My fellow colleagues and I are experiencing the same problem this semester too.

I wanted to bring it to your attention because this issue has not been fixed from a long time.

A: It has been a challenge to keep the temperature at a comfortable level near the doors this winter, given the extreme cold weather we've been experiencing. I've asked our facilities department to increase the heat and air flow for the entrance area.

Another contributing factor is that we've been encountering some problems with our heated Air Curtains located in the entrance foyer.

I'm hoping to resolve the air curtain issue soon, which I'm confident will restore the temperature to a more comfortable level in the entrance area again.
