Alumni Journal Database Access

Published by Dipa Barua

Q. I graduated in 2015 and my email account is going to be shut down this month. I assume my library privileges will also change. I like the online databases for articles, and I have to sign in with that
email ID to access those. I know I can borrow books with my alumni card (from my earlier degree, even), but is there anything I can do to maintain the journal database access?

A. Unfortunately you will not be able to keep remote access to all of the databases once your SFU email account expires.

Alumni can remotely access only a small subset of the databases: http://www.lib.sfu.ca/about/overview/services-you/alumni#access-to-computers-and-online-materials

There is also no option to purchase online access on an individual basis. Please remember however that all of the databases are available to any member of the public using a library workstation at any of the three campuses.

Take care,
