All times are Pacific Time Zone (Vancouver, BC, Canada).

Referrals from faculty and TAs are the best source of encouragement for students choosing to submit their work to the SLC's annual undergraduate writing contest. Here is how one student described her experience:

I was enrolled in the Foundations of Academic Literacy course in my first term at SFU. My professor, Dr. MacLean encouraged me to enter my term paper in the SLC writing contest. Earning an honourable mention in the contest led me to volunteer with the SLC as a Writing and Learning Peer. The whole experience has been very encouraging.

This information session is designed to answer faculty, TA's and instructional staff's questions about the writing contest and provide you with the best possible information to encourage your students to submit their work to the contest.

We are particularly interested in addressing questions you might have about the Plurilingual Prize category and the First Year category for the contest, as we are actively looking to grow submissions in these categories and need your help to do so!
