About the workshop
Many institutions have not yet established clear guidelines for best practices in using AI for academic writing. Without these guidelines, students often struggle to distinguish between ethical and unethical AI use, potentially leading to accusations of academic dishonesty. Students for whom English is an additional language (EAL) may face additional challenges due to language barriers and might unintentionally misuse AI tools because of unfamiliarity with academic integrity standards in a different cultural or educational context.
This workshop will cover:
- The practical consequences of AI use in writing
- What constitutes unethical use of AI
- The potential ethical use of AI in academic writing
- How students can utilize AI to their benefit
By attending, students will gain a clear understanding of how to leverage AI tools responsibly and effectively in their academic writing.
