The tidyverse is a set of R packages that have become extremely popular in recent years. Instead of adding functionality as packages often do, they provide an alternative grammar to most of the Base R functions in an easier, more predictable, and more consistent fashion. This workshop provides an overview of the tidyverse, and some of the key differences between Base R and the tidyverse.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- find valuable open resources to learn R with the tidyverse
- use tibbles and explain their differences with classic data frames
- use the pipe function
Participants need to bring a laptop with R and RStudio installed, and the latest version of the tidyverse package. Download R from https://cran.r-project.org/ and install the tidyverse package by running install.packages("tidyverse") in R.
