SFU Vancouver Research Commons opening Fall 2020

The SFU Vancouver Research Commons will be a flexible, technology-enabled space on the 7th floor of Harbour Centre that will support SFU graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and other researchers in building cross-discipline scholarly communities of practice, experimenting with new research tools and methods, and learning with peers.

Building upon the success of the Research Commons at W.A.C. Bennett Library (SFU Burnaby), the Vancouver Research Commons will support researchers throughout their time at SFU with a mix of individual, collaborative, and contemplative spaces as well as  research, learning, and academic support services.

The 1900 sq. ft space will include twelve dedicated workstations, flexible learning space, community space, three consultation rooms, and space for staff to develop and deliver services.

We want to hear from you

In anticipation of the Vancouver Research Commons opening, gathering input from students, faculty, and the university community is essential.  Feedback sessions will be held in Summer 2020 (specific dates to be determined) and ideas about using the space are welcome by email to
