Reference Services
Research Help
The SFU Library Reference Desks are a good place to come for help with research, whenever you need it. Friendly Reference staff will show you how to find and use the best information resources for your topic. We also create subject guides outlining information sources for academic disciplines taught at SFU.
- The Bennett Library (Burnaby) Usk Us Desk (also called Information Commons Service Desk) is on the 3rd floor, visible straight ahead of you from the entrance, phone 778.782.5735
- The Belzberg Library (Harbour Centre) Reference Desk is opposite the entrance as well, phone 778.782.5051
- The Reference Desk at the SFU Surrey Library is visible from the Library entrance, at the centre of the computers area, phone 778.782.7414
If you can't visit a Reference Desk in person, try one of the following services for research assistance:
- AskAway. Web-based chat reference, a virtual reference desk experience
- Ask Us by email
- Ask Us Here. In-person reference service offered in various locations on campus.
Liaison Librarians
As well as asking for point-of-use help at a Reference Desk, you may also contact a subject specialist librarian for assistance with more complex research questions. See the list of Liaison Librarians to find the subject librarian for your area.
