HelpDocs: Landscaped Tables, Figures, Images (etc)
For many reasons, we do not recommend adding section breaks and landscaping pages/sections in your thesis.
- When looking at the printed version of the document, page numbers are at the bottom of the document but, on these pages, they end up on right margin.
- This can play havoc with page numbering and margins.
- When PDFing, Mac users find that their document breaks up into a number of documents.
The alternatives are:
- Attend a Theses: Tables, Images, PDFs, High-Quality Print workshop to learn how to manipulate your tables well.
- Create your landscaped tables in another file--use the Landscaped Tables template;
then convert to a high-quality PDF, a high-quality JPG, crop and rotate, and insert the image(s) below the caption in your thesis.
(Table titles are not included in/with the table and figure captions are not included in figures.)
See also the Images page and workshop handout for help with creating, cropping, rotating, converting images.
