Finding Simon Fraser University MBA Research Projects

Find MBA projects from 2008 - onwards using Summit

Please Note: Recent projects may not be available because most are postponed from circulation for a period of 12-months from the date of submission for confidentiality reasons. Once the postponement period passes, full-text read-only versions of SFU theses and research projects are available online.

Projects completed after 2007 can be found online through the Summit - SFU Library's Institutional Repository by searching the Segal Graduate School of Business Final Projects collection within Summit.

Unlike library catalogue records, Institutional Repository records do not include information pertaining to senior supervisor.

To search for a specific item, type your keywords (or title or author name etc.) into the Summit search box:

The SFU Library Catalogue has records for all projects through 2007. To search the catalogue for final projects:

  2. Click on the title of the project and link from the catalogue record to the online read-only version in the Institutional Repository.
  3. If the project is not available online or if you want to borrow a print copy, note the location and call number of the project to find it on the library shelves.
  4. If the project has a location of "In Process", click on the Request Item button to have it rush catalogued and held for you.

Library Catalogue Search Tips

To find a specific MBA project, do an author search of the student's last name, or search by title.

To search by topic type the topic keyword and the words simon fraser business administration theses in the search box. Please note you will retrieve all graduate business projects using your topic word(s).  If you want only MBA projects (not FRM or PhD theses), type your topic and the words m.b.a. theses (the periods in m.b.a. are necessary).

To search by supervisor type the supervising faculty member's name and the words simon fraser business administration theses in the search box. (e.g. vining simon fraser business administration theses).

To search by type of MBA enter the type of MBA (e.g. emba, mba-mot, mba-gawm or frm) and your keyword. In the sample search below, we are looking for MBA-MOT projects with the topic word online.

 Projects by topic

Other examples of searches by topic and type of MBA are:

mba-gawn portfolio*

The asterisk (*) in the above examples is a truncation symbol. It tells the catalogue to look for all words beginning with the sequence of letters given. For example, bank* will find the words bank, banks, banking, banker, bankers, etc.
