RefWorks: Using Write-N-Cite

What is Write-N-Cite?

Write-N-Cite is a downloadable plug-in for Microsoft Word which syncs with your RefWorks account, and allows you to insert in-text citations and automatically generate a bibliography.

To install Write-N-Cite, login to your RefWorks account and go to Tools > Write-N-Cite. Click the link for the version of Write-N-Cite you wish to install and follow your computer's instructions to complete the installation.

SFU's group code is RWSimonFraserU  (The code is case-sensitive and is for SFU users only.)

Please note that Write-N-Cite for Mac does NOT work with Word 2016 at this time. For workarounds, visit RefWorks' Write-N-Cite troubleshooting guide

Write-N-Cite doesn't work anymore? Try re-installing Write-N-Cite using the installation instructions above.

After the migration on June 16, 2015, you will need to install the latest version of Write-N-Cite. If you started writing a paper with Write-N-Cite before the migration, you will need to update a setting in order to be able to continue working on your paper: Instructions for WindowsInstructions for Mac

If you're using OpenOffice, LibreOffice or Rich Text Format, you can use One Line / Cite View to create in-text citations and a bibliography using your RefWorks references.
