I'm not an SFU student, staff or faculty member. Can I use your electronic resources such as databases and e-journals?

For the most part, the library's database and electronic journal and ebook license obligations require us to identify SFU users as members of the SFU community, and to restrict access to them.

If you are a:

you will be able to gain access to these sources from on campus or off.

If you are an SFU alumnus you will be able to access a growing list of electronic resources from home: log in with your last name, and Library barcode. See SFU Services to Alumni for more information.

For the most part, members of the general public, alumni cardholders, and external borrower cardholders may only access electronic resources from within the library. With some exceptions for alumni you will not be able to gain access from off-site. Some electronic resources, however, are freely available to anyone.

Those database records which indicate "yes" under "open access" are freely available to anyone from on or off the SFU campus. Those databases which indicate "no" under "open access" are available to members of the general public, alumni cardholders, and external borrower cardholders from on campus only. In order to determine if a resource is open access or not, look up the electronic resource in the list of SFU library databases.
