Borrowed Notebook Computer Frequently Asked Technical Questions
How do I connect to the SFU wireless network?
By default, the notebooks are not connected to the wireless network. To connect, open Internet Explorer. You will be presented with the SFU Wireless Network login page. Enter your University computing username and password and you will be connected to the network.
How do I print from this notebook?
From the application's Print menu, choose which printer you want to use. At the printer, insert your printer card, enter the login ID of the notebook you are using (it's the one identified in the upper-left corner of the notebook keyboard), and you will see your job.
How do I get my files off of the notebook?
When you return the notebook to the Reserves Counter, its hard drive is wiped. Therefore, before you return it, you must 1) save your documents to your floppy disk or USB key, or 2) save your documents to your CCN Filespace. To do the latter, click on the CCN Filespace icon on the notebook's desktop and follow the instructions.
