Serials Allocation Changes in 2008-2009 Collections Budget

As detailed elsewhere on the Library's web site, the SFU Library has for several years been undertaking a project to migrate much of the journal collection from print to online, where favourable terms are available. During this time, we have had the luxury of an adequate budget to allow exceptions based on preferences expressed by departments. The 2008/09 budget does not allow us to continue with these exceptions; in order to avoid cancelling unduplicated content, we will adhere closely to the Library's criteria for migration to online-only journals. In 2009 more than 320 titles will be migrated to online-only to realize savings of $80,000. The amounts for each fund code involved are listed below. The titles involved for each department will be distributed to the respective departmental library representatives in July 2008.
