Faculty and University staff may book the Library’s meeting rooms for University related business during Library Management Office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm). Due to Library and Student Learning Commons requirements, Rooms 7200 and 7301 are not available in September, October, November, January, February and March. To book a Library meeting room, departmental administrative assistants should contact the Library Administration Office at 778.782.6704. Library management staff will book the requested event/function using the Room Booking software. A brief description of the event/function is required and Library management staff reserves the right to refuse/cancel the room booking for events/functions deemed inappropriate in the Library setting. Library staff may book any of the meeting rooms and instructional labs in the Library for library instruction or work-related meetings. To book a meeting room, staff access the Library’s Room Booking software from the SFU Library Staff intranet. See below meeting room descriptions for any restrictions to usage that may apply. Equipment required for a booked meeting may also be specified using the Room Booking software. |

Seating for 48, 24 computers, ceiling mounted LCD projector, instructor’s lectern with desk top computer, wireless mike and sound system, air conditioning, two pull down screens, white board, etc. This room should be scheduled in preference to Room 4009. Media Resource Centre Preview Room. Seating for 16, with 8 moveable, wheeled tables. Equipment available: Wall mounted screen and viewing equipment for standard format videos, dvds and 16 mm films. No computer or LCD projector. The room is available during regular Media Resource Centre hours. This room is available to faculty, instructors and students for preview or outside class group viewing of MRC items [16 mm films, videos, dvds, laser discs] in support of SFU course work. Note: This room is not intended to be used for regular seminar classes. |

Primary Use: Library Meeting Room. Seating for 6 to 8 around a rectangle tables plus an additional chairs, video-conferencing computer. Secondary Use: This room is also available to faculty, instructors and students during regular Media Resource Centre hours for preview or outside class group viewing of videos and dvds in the MRC collection in support of SFU course work when Room 3101 is already booked. Note: This room is not available as a seminar room for classes. |

Library Committee Room. Seating for 25 with tables arranged in a hollow square, for 30 - 40 at tables arranged in classroom configuration or 50 with no tables, but set up as theatre style. Equipment includes: computer (PC), pull-down screen, 2 whiteboards (one of which is portable), 1 flip chart (please request), telephone, ceiling-mounted LCD projector and overhead projector. Note: Due to Library and Student Learning Commons requirements, Room 7200 is not available in September, October, November, January, February and March. |

Note: This room must be booked through Special Collections staff (778.782.5335). Its use is limited to tutorial groups, classes, or special meetings which require the use of Special Collections material. |

Obligations of the Person Booking a Library Meeting Room at WAC Bennett Library
- Close the windows before leaving the room
- Turn-off the lights [except for Room 2105 whose lights should be left on] and any equipment used before leaving the room
- Leave the Room’s furniture in the order it was found
- Lock the doors when the room is vacated
- Make arrangements in advance to have Library Systems staff scan any computer disks for viruses [778.782.4706]
- Inform Equipment Services regarding any malfunctioning equipment [778.782.4470]
- Non-library personnel need to contact Library Systems if computers are to be used [778.782.4706].
